Crankbrothers Standard Release cleats provide a replacement interface for Crankbrothers clip-in pedals and compatible two-bolt mountain or gravel cycling shoes. This version has zero degrees of float, creating a firm, fixed-feeling connection for riders who intentionally prefer minimal rotational movement at the shoe.
The cleats use premium-strength brass and a standard 15-degree release angle. They are compatible across the Crankbrothers clip-in pedal family rather than with Shimano SPD pedals. Their two-hole mounting pattern suits many recessed-sole MTB and gravel shoes, and the kit includes plastic spacing shims to help address shoe-sole clearance where required.

Because the cleats provide no rotational float, accurate alignment is especially important for comfort and pedaling mechanics. Confirm the rider’s natural foot angle, install the left and right cleats in their correct positions, and tighten the hardware evenly to the shoe or cleat manufacturer’s specification. Test entry and release while supported before riding. Crankbrothers cleats are not interchangeable with SPD cleats despite using a similar two-bolt shoe pattern. Inspect the brass cleats and mounting hardware regularly, particularly when the shoes are frequently used for walking, and replace worn parts when engagement or release becomes inconsistent.
